Welcome to modelvill akitas We are a small Kennel situated on the outskirts of a beautiful village in Northern Ireland. Our kennel to date has made up nine Champions and three International Beaute Champions. This was all done with the help of our son who handles all our dogs and makes this all possible. The Akita is a powerfully built dog originally developed in Japan to hunt bears. In July 1931, the government of Japan designated the Akita breed as a national monument and have listed it as one of Japan's national treasures.Even today In Japan they are still affectionately regarded as loyal companions and pets, protectors of the home and a symbol of good health. They are regarded to be an excellent police dog and guard dog. When a child is born, the proud family will usually receive a small statue of an Akita signifying health, happiness and a long life. If a person is ill, their friends will send a small statue of an Akita as a Get-Well soon gift. |
